A successful commuter program requires community awareness and support.
Discuss the concept with your local community leaders and determine if Viva Commute supports
the objectives of your community plan.
Determine if there are any advocacy organizations in your community that will work with you to
promote the concept.
Plan a marketing strategy that targets the daily commuters. Newspapers and radio
are still the best media for advertising.
Establish relationships with business sponsors who can provide both financial help
and marketing expertise.
Give the program a high profile with innovative advertising.
VIVA COMMUTE WILL HELP YOU MONITOR THE SUCCESS OF YOUR PROGRAM
In small organizations, most people know each other and automatically team up for convenience. In larger organizations,
typically over 100 people, co-workers often travel separately over the same routes with no knowledge of each other. Viva
Commute offers an easy way to match employees with similar routes and schedules.
Designate someone at your place of work to be in charge of managing the program. This person is very
often from the Human Resources department with a commitment to the environment.
Survey your employees to determine how they travel to work and what difficulties they experience.
Review the results and determine if a commuter matching service is an appropriate solution.
Hold a transportation day at your work site. Have brochures available for all employees.
Show that your company supports the program. Send everyone an e-mail or voice announcement.
Make it a Fun Day!

Establish relationships with business sponsors who can provide both financial help
